"There is always, always, always something to be thankful for." During the Thanksgiving Holiday, I had my last photo session of the season. This one was extra special to me because it was for my sweet sister-in-law and dorky brother ;) who are expecting their first baby. There was some concern because we were well into fall and most of the leaves had fallen. We were able to collaborate together to get a look that was perfect for all of us. In spite of the late season it was s
This is part two in my series on locations. Today we are talking about Salt Lake County. Salt Lake County is so big, that this list is by no means comprehensive. Sugar House Park The park is over 110 acres rolling green space in the Sugar House neighborhood of Salt Lake City. There is also a large duck pond on the property. Little Cottonwood Canyon, Temple Quarry Area There are several locations in and around Little Cottonwood Canyon. It offers beautiful options, year round.
Here is a sneak peak of some of my mini sessions. My first location was Hobbs Pond. I only recently discovered it, but it has quickly become a new favorite, not just for me, but my family as well. This family came to me as a referral from a friend. I love referrals for so many reasons. One of the biggest is that I get to meet new people. Because they are so quick mini-sessions make it difficult to get to know people very well, but I really enjoyed this sweet family. Before th

Some want an urban feel, while others want something more natural. A few people even want the best of both worlds. Luckily there are plenty of options to choose from. So let's start with Davis County. Syracuse Jensen Nature Park Jensen Nature Park is located on Bluff Road, just north of Gentile St. It has a pond, trail,
I have heard fabulous things about the wild flowers in Albion Basin for a long time, but we have never managed to make it up there. This year, I made a goal that it would happen and designated this past Sunday as the day. Then I received some sad news about a friend and past fellow co-worker. Death is never an easy thing to deal with and the news came as quite a shock. My husband and I decided to proceed as planned. We figured it was as good a time as any to be close to natur
The Shorelands Preserve seems to be the hot spot this year. I've been out there several times and it never ceases to amaze me with its serene, yet constantly changing beauty. I couldn't believe how much greener it was since my previous visit. This is the second time I have had the privilege of working with this sweet family. Last time it was snowing and cold prompting us to shoot indoors. It was one of my favorite sessions, but I think this location was a nice change of pace
