This is part two in my series on locations. Today we are talking about Salt Lake County. Salt Lake County is so big, that this list is by no means comprehensive.
Sugar House Park
The park is over 110 acres rolling green space in the Sugar House neighborhood of Salt Lake City. There is also a large duck pond on the property.
Little Cottonwood Canyon, Temple Quarry Area
There are several locations in and around Little Cottonwood Canyon. It offers beautiful options, year round. Due to weather and access closure, certain options are restricted from November to July.
Wheeler Historic Farm $10 fee
Now the woods are a natural landscape retreat in the middle of the Salt Lake City. Large trees, shrubs and wetlands run along Little Cottonwood Creek. The $10 fee includes the grounds only. Interior photography requires renting the entire building.
International Peace Gardens
The Peace Gardens are located on the banks of the Jordan River in Jordan Park. Twenty-eight countries are represented at the gardens and offer a plethora of photographic options.
Nestled below the Capitol building the 8.75 acre park features memorials to Utah’s veterans and a replica of the Liberty Bell. There is also a stream and numerous other structures.
Utah State Capitol
This is a hot spot for brides, but the architecture is stunning it offers a large indoor option in the even of inclement weather.
The "lower Avenues" (below 11th or 13th) is a neighborhood of mostly older Victorian-era homes. Tucked between the capitol building and Temple Suqare, there are great views of the city. The Avenues is also especially popular due to its proximity to downtown, the large and remote Memory Grove/City Creek Canyon recreation area to the west.
35 acres beautiful gardens and gorgeous architecture in heart of Salt Lake City.
The Exchange Place
This location is a great option if you want more of an urban feel. Some options include brick and colored walls, artistic graffiti backdrops, stunning architecture, a great view of the city (from the top of the garage. The lighting here is great any time of day due to lots of open shade and it is open 24 hours a day.
Similar to Antelope Island, the Great Salt Lake and its islands provide outstanding scenery and amazing sunsets.
